Keeping your arrows in top condition is the easiest way to prolong their life and it's really easy to keep arrows at their best.
The most important thing with arrow care is taking a good close look at the shaft and ends before use. You want to spot issues like fractures and dents which could lead to damage to the arrow, the bow, or yourself. Damaged arrows should be replaced immediately. Seriously, never shoot a damaged arrow.
Shooting arrows safely into targets (not rocks or the ground) reduces unnecessary damage to the tip and the shaft.
After a day of use, wipe off your arrows with a soft cloth - especially if they've been used in rain. For Carbon and Aluminium arrows, you can use a little non-detergent soap in water to clean away dirt. Tips can be wiped with a little machine oil. Just make sure the arrow is completely dry before putting it away. Try not to get any machine oil on the shaft of carbon arrows, as it may affect the strength of the carbon fibre.
Don't jam too many arrows into a quiver as it can squish the vanes.
Try to keep your storage quiver upright and away from heat. Popping some foam at the bottom of the quiver won’t do much for the arrow tips, but might help protect the quiver itself.
Apex Hunting wants your new arrows to arrive in top condition. We send out arrows in specially designed tubes, to protect the shafts and tips from transit damage.
