The Olight Javelot Turbo 2 Hunting Torch is a full-size, long-range LED torch for hunting, tracking and search and rescue. A deep reflector focuses the LED into a tight beam that reaches 1,500 metres on Turbo. You can light up a far tree line, follow a blood trail after dark, or find your way back to camp.

The included wireless remote pairs with the torch, so you can control it from a short distance. It sits on a magnetic dock on the torch, which holds it in place and charges it at the same time. The large side switch steps through brightness levels, and the tail switch gives you instant on when you need light straight away.

This rechargeable hunting torch runs on a replaceable 5,000mAh battery pack. You can charge it by USB-C or the magnetic charge base, and swapping in a spare battery is as quick as unscrewing the tail cap. With an aluminium body and an IP67 waterproof rating, the Olight Javelot Turbo 2 is built to handle wet nights and rough country.

What we like

It’s a big torch, so it’s not one for the pocket. But if you need serious reach after dark, for tracking or checking a tree line, the range and the wireless remote make it a really useful bit of kit. We’d suggest carrying a spare battery for long nights.

• Long-range throw: A deep reflector and focused beam light up distant terrain clearly.
• Wireless remote: Control the torch hands-free, with a magnetic dock that stores and charges the remote.
• Swappable battery: Unscrew the tail cap to fit a fresh battery pack in seconds.
• Two ways to charge: Top up by USB-C or the magnetic charge base.
• Two switches: A large side switch for brightness and a tail switch for instant on.
• Weather ready: A waterproof aluminium body handles rain and rough use.
